There is a very good reason why powerlifters will use straps and wraps in their competition (if they are allowed)... it enables you to lift more weight! The reason why this equipment is so effective is because often your wrist strength and grip strength can be the weak link of your body in an exercise. This limitation reduces the amount of resistance that you are able to put on your muscles. When you are not putting your muscles under maximum resistance then you won't be getting maximum results from your training.
